Wildfires, firestorms replaced by -36°C in Colorado
Despite it having been extreme wildfires with pyrocumulonimbus clouds and firestorms in Colarado just a few days ago, temperatures within Colarado had dipped to some -36°C on Tuesday morning, at Hebron, near the location of the firestorms.
This occurred with an extremely cold Arctic airmass moving over the region along with a strong high pressure system bringing clear skies and excellent radiational cooling, cold air drainage of already cold, dry air.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Boulder Office had said that the surface observations are in line with infrared observations from satellites.
