Second warmest October on record in WA
Western Australia saw second the warmest October on record based on mean maximum temperatures according to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology(BOM).
The warmest October on record was October 2015.The third warmest October on record was October 2014.
Western Australia has experienced the warmest year to date on record this year. Based on mean maximum temperatures, the warmest year on record so far was 2014, the second being 2015 and the third being 2013 and the fourth being 2018. Their anomalies were 1.36 Degrees Celsius, 1.32 Degrees Celsius and 1.31 Degrees Celsius and 1.27 Degrees Celsius respectively.
The anomaly this year so far is 2.27 Degrees Celsius thus it is extremely likely that this year will be the state's warmest on record given the BOMs seasonal outlook and that there are only 2 months left.
Thus all 5 of the warmest years on record in the state by mean maximum temperature would be in the past 6 years.
It was also the state's driest since 1979 and the 10th driest on record.
The year to date rainfall was the state's driest since 1936 and is the 3rd driest on record
