Portland, Oregon has seen a record high of around 116F (46.6°C) shortly after 5 PM local time today, beating the record highest June temperature prior to this year by almost an 8°C margin and the record for all months prior to this year by a margin of almost 5°C!
Records date back to 1940. The highest temperature on record at Portland prior to this year was around 107°F (41.7°C) set on August 8 & 10 1981 and July 30th 1965. The highest June temperature on record at Portland prior to this year was around 102°F (39°C) in June 1942 and 2006.
