Already the longest July wet spell since July 1964
July 21 2021
Out of luck, the official Perth Metro station was the only BOM station "over land" within the Perth Area to have seen measurable rain today so far, just marginally enough, only 0.2 mm.
Thus the official Perth Metro station has seen 19 consecutive days with measurable rain so far, already the second longest July wet spell on record displacing 18 consecutive days in July 1974. The longest July wet spell on record was 24 consecutive days in July 1964.
If it also rains everyday until the 24 hours period of Monday 9 AM to Tuesday 9 AM, the official Perth Metro site would see the longest July wet spell on record since records from 1880 (NOT 1980)!
It has only failed to rain on 2 days this month so far. Perth's rainiest month on record by the number of days with measurable rain was 29 days in July 1946 and August 1955.
