Wettest May day in 58 years at Perth Airport
Perth Airport experienced the wettest May (climatological) day in 58 years that is since May 25 1963 where 55.4 mm of rain fell and the 3rd wettest on record just shy of the record of 57.4 mm set on May 3 1947 as 53.8 mm fell in the 24 hours to 9 AM this morning.
Most of the rain fell in areas of heavy rain stalling over the airport and some areas in a rain band ahead of an upper level disturbance fed by tropical moisture.
